A Journey Through My Favorite Teaware and Accessories – Part 1

Tea, the second most consumed beverage in the world, has a rich history and culture that spans thousands of years. It’s not just about the leaves and the brew; the teaware and accessories used in the preparation and consumption of tea play a significant role in enhancing the overall experience. Today, I want to take you on a journey through some of my favorite teaware and accessories that have become an integral part of my tea sessions.

1. Absorbent Thick Tea Mat

First on my list is the absorbent thick tea mat. This mat, which I got from Temu, is a game-changer for any tea enthusiast. It’s perfect for laying down all your teaware and enjoying a wonderful tea session without worrying about spills or stains. The mat is thick and absorbent, ensuring that any accidental spills are quickly soaked up, keeping your tea table clean and dry. The mat also adds a touch of elegance to your tea sessions, making them even more enjoyable.

2. Beautiful Vase

Next up is a beautiful vase that I got from Etsy. This vase is not just a decorative piece; it’s a symbol of the aesthetic appeal that is inherent in the culture of tea drinking. It adds a touch of beauty and elegance to your tea table, creating a serene and calming atmosphere that enhances the overall tea-drinking experience. The vase’s intricate design and exquisite craftsmanship are a testament to the artistry that goes into every piece of teaware.

3. Tea Boat or Teapot Holder

The tea boat or teapot holder, another gem from Etsy, is a must-have for any tea lover. This versatile accessory serves as a mini water disposing vessel for your gongfu sessions, eliminating the need for additional teaware. It also provides a secure place for your teapot, ensuring that it’s safe and stable during your tea sessions. The tea boat is a perfect blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, making it an essential part of your teaware collection.

4. Bamboo Tea Cup Holder

The bamboo tea cup holder, which I first saw at a tea session at Icha tea in Toronto and later got from Temu, is another favourite of mine. This holder is not just practical; it’s a symbol of the simplicity and elegance that is characteristic of the tea culture. It adds a touch of nature to your tea sessions, creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere that enhances the overall experience.

5. Porcelain Teacup with a Thin Rim

Last but not least is the porcelain teacup with a thin rim that I got from Tao Tea Leaf. This teacup is perfect for extensive gongfu and tea tasting sessions. The thin rim allows the tea to flow smoothly onto your tongue, spreading the taste evenly and enhancing the flavour. The porcelain material keeps the tea at the perfect temperature, ensuring that every sip is as enjoyable as the last.

Tell me your favorite!

Each of these pieces of teaware and accessories has its unique charm and functionality, making them an essential part of my tea sessions. They not only enhance the tea-drinking experience but also add a touch of beauty and elegance to the tea table.

So, which one is your favourite? Do you have a piece of teaware or an accessory that you can’t do without during your tea sessions? I would love to hear about your favourites and why you love them. Let’s continue to explore and appreciate the beauty and richness of the tea culture together.
